Purpose of the Website

SmartStart-Web is a non-commercial, private project. It provides a curated catalogue of websites and related information for personal use. No user accounts are required and no profiling or automated decision-making takes place.

Hosting & Server Log Files

This website is hosted on servers provided by a third-party hosting provider. When you access the site, the web server automatically stores the following information in so-called server log files:

These log files are processed solely to ensure the technical operation, security and stability of the website and are not used to identify individual visitors. Log data is normally deleted automatically after a short retention period, provided no security-relevant incidents require longer storage.

Cookies

This website uses only technically necessary cookies that are required for basic functionality (for example, remembering simple settings or preferences during a session).

No analytics, tracking, marketing or third-party advertising cookies are used. You can configure your browser to block cookies entirely; in that case, some functions of the website may no longer work as intended.

Contact by Email

If you contact me by email, the data you provide (such as your email address and message content) will be processed solely for the purpose of handling your enquiry. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) DSGVO) and, where applicable, the necessity to take steps at your request prior to entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) DSGVO).

Your email will not be shared with third parties unless there is a legal obligation to do so.

Data Retention

Personal data (for example, emails you send) is stored only for as long as necessary to fulfil the respective purpose or as required by legal retention periods. Afterwards, data is deleted or anonymised.

Your Rights Under the GDPR

In relation to your personal data, you have the following rights under the GDPR (subject to the applicable legal requirements):

To exercise these rights, please contact me using the details above. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the EU member state of your habitual residence, place of work or place of the alleged infringement.
